Most of our branches are able to offer routine
surgical procedures on-site, and your pet will often be discharged
on the same day. In the unfortunate eventuality that your pet requires
a more complex procedure then your pet will be referred to our hospital
in Swanland.
At
the hospital we are equipped with three operating theatres, which
can accommodate up to eight surgical procedures at any one time,
including a dedicated orthopaedic theatre. Our experienced Surgeons
are able to offer a wide range of dental, soft tissue and orthopaedic
surgical procedures. We have a wide range of surgical tools including
arthroscopy, diathermy, and air-powered tools.
We
have five independent wards for our patients, including separate
cat and dog wards, an exotics ward and two isolation wards away
from the main building. All of our wards are air-conditioned and
monitored 24 hours a day by our Nurse, Veterinary Surgeons and by
CCTV.
Our
orthopaedic surgeons are able to perform some techniques via Arthroscopy.
This is modern technique that allows a specialist camera to view
within the joint of a patient. This not only allows us to diagnose
certain conditions, but also to perform minimally invasive surgery,
via the arthroscopic equipment. Where appropriate these techniques
result in less post operative pain, and quicker recovery times for
our patients.
We
are also able to take surgical referrals from other Veterinary Practices.
Please contact the reception at the hospital for more details.
